Celebrate MLK Day in Hendricks Park Forest

The MLK Day of Service on January 21 is part of United We Serve, the President's national call to service initiative. It asks Americans from all walks of life to work together to provide solutions to our most pressing national problems. Eugene Park Stewards (EPS) is partnering with Friends of Hendricks Park to honor Dr. King's legacy by joining forces to enhance the Hendricks Park Forest. More volunteers of all ages and abilities are needed rain or shine to maintain trails and clear ivy and other invasive species from the forest area. The work party kicks off at 9 am at F.M. Wilkins Shelter, located at 2200 Summit Avenue in Hendricks Park. Tools and instruction will be provided by EPS and snacks courtesy of the Friends.
