AAARRRRRRGH!!! live screenplay reading

Thursday, January 24, 2013, 3:00 AM - 6:00 AM

A live dramatic reading of a screenplay before an audience is about to be performed locally for the very first time. AAARRRRRRGH!!! by local screenwriters Desiree Stratford and Al Kline, is an outrageous interpretation of the real life adventures of pirate women Anne Bonny and Mary Read. These hellcats sailed with Captain Calico Jack Rackam and terrorized the Carribean before being sentenced to hang in 1720.
The FREE performance, part of DIVA's OpenLens Film Festival, will be held at the Wildish Theatre in Springfield on Wednesday, January 23rd from 7-10 pm. The presentation will showcase some of the most talented actors and actresses in the area, including Mark Lewis, a two-time Emmy award winner who has appeared on NBC's 'Grimm'.
The bawdy performance will be followed by a meet-and-greet with the screenwriters. AAARRRRRRGH!!! is rated aaarrrrrrgh, or 'R' for strong adult language.
The screenwriters are available for press interviews from January 14-18th.
